What you can expect from your wedding photography experience?
‘There are a few of things that drive and inspire me when photographing a wedding; to capture great storytelling photos, gorgeous detail images and stunning bride and groom portraits.
My style is natural, creative and relaxed. I am inspired by nature, light, symmetry, architecture, green spaces and the natural beauty around us. I love to get to know the two of you, to find out what makes you tick so I can capture your relationship and real moments between the you.
I really do enjoy spending time with the two of you to create images that are beautiful and editorial in feel. Photos that you will want to print, frame and share. You may have noticed I have a slight obsession with soft evening light (it really is the most awesome light for photos) but most of all these photos are about you. You are unique, so your portraits will be unique too.
During the day, while you are enjoying time with your besties in the morning and guests during the day I take the time to capture all those in-between moments without ever trying to manipulate them. For most of the day I will unobtrusively photograph the events as they happen. All you need to do is get on with celebrating and enjoying your day.
You might feel slightly overwhelmed at the thought of choosing your photographer and having your picture taken all day, but I promise to guide you through the whole process, from the best place to shoot your photos to the layout of your album design, I’ll be there to take the pressure and worry from you.
There are no cheesy posed shots, no need to make sure you’re always smiling for the camera and no lengthy queue for family photos – just you guys having the best time with me there to document it. I shoot in a candid, reportage style mixed with beautiful, natural portraits, so that your wedding can speak for itself.’
What is it I love about photographing weddings?
‘It’s partly the people. Everyone you love in one place and all the happy and proud faces. Capturing that fleeting glance from your mum as she looks at you, her little girl, walking down the aisle. Photographing the hysterical laughter of your friends as they dish the dirt on escapades of your youth. The smiles, the fun and the laughter as well as one or two tears of joy.
It’s partly the place. A beautiful venue, decorated with fresh flowers, a delicious and stylish cake, ribbons and pretty details. All the personal touches you have spent months thinking of and planning. Things that really reflect the two of you, your style and what’s important to you. A gorgeous garden to relax in, a place to enjoy the soft and golden evening light as you wander hand in hand with the person you have chosen to spend your life with.
It’s a big bit of you, the bride and groom. You make the day! The nervous anticipation during the morning preparations, the smiles and laughs with your best friends as you get ready. Your relaxed and happy approach to a wonderful day that means the world to you. So what if it doesn’t go exactly as planned? You are marrying your best friend and that’s the most important bit. This is the feeling I love to photograph. Little giggles between the two of you. Big hugs as you finally get a moment together to take it all in. The largest smiles as you realise you have done it! After all the months of planning you are finally husband and wife.
Most of all I love to capture the story of your day with all of the bits that make it your unique day. I genuinely care and bring as much passion to photographing your day as I would my own. Your happiness is my aim. I go out of my way to ensure you enjoy the whole experience. I love to capture beautiful and natural images that you will treasure. Photos that will bring back amazing memories. Photos that capture your uniqueness on your wedding day.
Photography that offers a little bit of elegance, some understated romance, a lot of fun and a relaxed approach.’
What her couples say:
“I can’t thank you enough Fiona for truly capturing the day as it happened. I knew from meeting with you that I wanted reportage style photography and seeing the end results proves I made the right choice in photographer. I would happily recommend you to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. You put me at ease and managed to photograph the day without people being aware of your presence – ensuring these gorgeous natural shots.”
“Thank you so much for all the beautiful photos Fiona, we absolutely love them! You made our day so special.”
“Oh my….!!! Wow wee! These are gorgeous and perfect, so so so magical and beautiful – thank you so much, lost for words…”
“I loved working with Fiona. She is so personable and a treat to work with on a day that can be quite hectic. She is easy going and laid back, while shooting amazing pictures.”
"Fiona’s ability to take natural shots that capture the moment separates her from the crowd. She has exceptional vision and a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Fiona’s clearly a professional in her field, but she’s also so warm and kind that it makes us happy that she got to share our special day with us.”
